Xtreme Recovery Winch
I purchased a 3000LB extreme recovery winch (available on ebay) about 2 years ago. I have abused this winch on at least 8 or 9 weekend trips. I have been really suprised at how well this winch has held up. The winch, winch plate and all wiring was under $150.00. There is another guy in the group I normally ride with that has the same winch and has had similar results. Neither one of us has anything bad to say about these winches. If you are looking for a real good inexpensive winch, I would definitely recommend giving Extreme recovery a try.

Swamp Lite Tires
I bought a set of 25" swamp lites for my wifes Polaris 300 from
Mud-throwers and after watching them perform for 2 weekends I had to order a set for my ATV
I ordered the 26" for mine with 1 1/8" tread depth and in my opinion this is by far the best ATV tire on the market for the general trails and the deep thick mud.
The flotation properties are second to non. when you need to get the front end up to keep those snorks dry just bump the gas
and you are up and away.

Warn Industries
I bought a Warn 2.5 CI ATV winch in December of 07 and installed it on my Suzuki Vinson.
Boy was that a mistake. I could not get the winch to free spool on my last outing, and was forced to use channel locks to break loose the engagement wheel.
On June 6th I took the winch off and tore it down to see just what was up.
Well what was up is the internal parts were rusted and full of mud and water.
I used a die grinder with a wire wheel to clean all the gears and everything up and greased them with water proof grease and reassembled it, with the addition of a grease zerk I installed in the housing so after each ride I could grease the unit. If you need more details about where to drill and tap for the grease zerk let me know.
I am the only one in our group that uses a warn winch and so far the only one with winch trouble due to mud and or water. So you be the judge but I will never buy another warn if it can't handle a little mud and or water.
